Assistant Coach

Daniel Canul is a student-athlete at the University of St. Thomas, where he is pursuing a degree in Business Management while competing as a member of the men’s basketball program. He is excited to be part of the Medina Basketball coaching staff and is passionate about helping young athletes grow through the game.
Having spent most of his life around basketball, Daniel understands the impact the sport can have on developing discipline, work ethic, and character. As both a collegiate player and coach, he emphasizes skill development, basketball IQ, teamwork, and accountability while creating a positive environment where players are encouraged to compete and build confidence.
Daniel’s coaching philosophy extends beyond the court. He believes basketball is a powerful platform for teaching leadership, resilience, and the importance of being a great teammate. His goal is to help every athlete strengthen their fundamentals, develop a deeper understanding of the game, and grow into confident young leaders both on and off the court.
Daniel looks forward to investing in each player’s development and making a positive impact throughout the season.
