Nathan Ghavidel

Nathan Ghavidel, a former Celt basketball player, has joined the UST men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach starting August 2023. Ghavidel brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Coach Medina’s team, having earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business from St. Thomas in May 2023.

Before joining the Celts staff, Ghavidel served as the Head Boys Basketball coach for both the Junior Varsity and 6th-grade programs and as an Assistant coach for the Varsity program at Bracken Christian School. His coaching journey also includes valuable experience at the AAU level in Texas.

Having played for the Celts, Ghavidel contributed significantly to the team’s success, being part of the SCAC regular-season championship team in 2020 and making multiple starts throughout the season. His high school career with the Boerne Champion Chargers (2015-2019) under the guidance of Stan Leech showcased his prowess, making Ghavidel the all-time leading scorer for the boys basketball program at Champion High School in Boerne, Texas.
